Concéntrico 06

Direction of the sixth edition of the International Festival of Architecture and Design

Concentrico is Logroño’s International Festival of Architecture and Design that proposes to reflect on the urban environment and the city. Concéntrico 06 was held from 3 to 6 September 2020.

The Festival invites visitors to tour the city through installations, exhibitions, meetings, activities and performances that create a connection between the squares, streets, courtyards and hidden spaces that usually go unnoticed in their daily lives.

Since 2015, the festival has brought together 59 urban installations in its five editions, in addition to the 14 interventions that took place in 2020:

Gregor Schneider, Germany / Iza Rutkowska, Poland / Storey Studio, United Kingdom / Jordi Gali con Jérémy Paon y Julien Quartier, France / KOGAA, Czech Republic / Mecanismo, España / Taneli Mansikkamäki, Finland / Attila Kim + Bogdan Ciocodeica, Romania / Anna & Eugeni Bach, Spain

Winners of the calls / Ignacio Hornillos + Javier Fernández, Spain / Silvia Bachetti + Agnese Casadio, Germany – Italy / Alejandro Ramírez, Mexico

Guest schools / Escuela Superior de Diseño de La Rioja, Spain / Escuela de Arquitectura de Toledo, Spain

The exhibitions have extended the focus to new international contexts, in 2020 we explore architecture and its natural cycles with The Pavilion of Reverberations by Centrala and Fundacja Bec Zmiana in an exhibition that began in the Polish pavilion of La Biennale di Venezia; the design of the Finnish Tuomas Kuure in Escuela Superior de Diseño de La Rioja.

The programme is completed in each edition with other activities, such as meetings and conversations with the support of Spanish Cultural Action and Creative Europe.
