History of a Friendship

Exhibition design for the exhibition 'Ignacio Zuloaga and Manuel de Falla. History of a friendship 'in CentroCentro Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid.

The exhibition Ignacio Zuloaga and Manuel de Falla. History of a friendship explores for the first time in depth the work they did together.

The starting point for the exhibition is the blue colour that Zuloaga recommended to Falla to decorate his house in Granada. From this colour, and through the creation of a plinth that brings together the great variety of works and documents, the 7 rooms/stages of the exhibition are developed. The colour orange is used to maintain tension and continuity between the different spaces.

The furniture, made of plywood and turned legs, is set up in the living room as autonomous islands in combination with large walls with photographs.

The image of the exhibition starts from the combination of two images of Falla and Zuloaga and the translation of the spirit of the exhibition into the external graphics.

The exhibition at CentroCentro Palacio de Cibeles is curated by José Vallejo and Pablo Melendo, with the collaboration of AC/E, the Ignacio Zuloaga Castillo de Pedraza Museum and the Manuel de Falla Archive.
